Your four legged family members need a doctor too.

Add a subheading copy 13Let’s be honest our pets are actually just furry four-legged family members, and when they hurt we hurt.  So when we make a move one of the many things we need to do is find those furry four-legged family members their own doctor to care for them.  Whether you’ve just moved or you’re looking for a local vet this week’s local business of the week located in Forest Grove, Oregon – Pacific Avenue Veterinary Clinic.

Dr, Sid and his crew have been helping small pets and their parents since 1998.  They provide the following services to their community:

Preventative Maintenance – just like your human family members your four legged family members need those routine check ups too.

  • Surgery – let’s be honest every now and then something happens and your pet will need surgery.  With an experienced surgical team you can be certain that your furry family member will be well cared for from the start of surgery to their recovery.
  • Diagnostics – they have state of the art diagnostic equipment so should you find that Fido needs an x-ray, ultrasound, blood work or other diagnostic treatment Pacific Ave. Vet Clinic can help.
  • Pet Boarding – headed out for a vacation?  They have two separate areas to keep healthy pets away from sick ones.  Both cats and dogs will find themselves feeling comfy thanks to large windowed cages that allow cats to do some bird watching, while Fido enjoys a walk two to three times a day.  They also know that just like humans pets do better away from home with the things that they love so you are welcome to bring their favorite blanket or toy.
  • Dentistry – Yes pets need to have dental work done too
  • Cat Grooming –  I bow down to them on this one because as you know, cats can be real jerks.  Probably why they offer sedated cat grooms which can include a lion cut, brush out, nail trim, sanitary shave in addition to ear and eye cleaning.  They do not offer cat bathing and I don’t blame them.  Cats plus water is a bad idea.

They also have an online store making it easy and convenient for you to get your pet supplies.

Does Fido Need Some Help?

Add a subheading copy 13Living in a small town sometimes it’s the little things that make life a little more convenient, such as doctor’s offices, dentist offices, a bank, restaurants, etc.  So, for those pet parents having a vet clinic close by certainly can make life easier.  So for those folks living in North Plains, and communities closer to North Plains the North Plains Veterinary Clinic provides a convenient  option for many pet parents for over 12 years.

I know that when my doggo Tug was alive, and I lived in another small town, having the vet close was nice, especially when they provide services like the ones that the North Plains Vet clinic offers.

Dr. Thomas Tsui and staff  provide medical care for dogs, cats and exotics.  Some of the services they provide are:

  • Vaccines
  • Wellness Exams
  • Dental Prophy
  • Oral Surgery
  • Digital Radiology
  • Inhouse lab work for immediate results & comprehensive off site results
  • Surgical Procedures
  • In-house ultrasounds
  • On-site pharmacy
  • Laser treatment for acute & chronic conditions
  • House calls

In addition, if you are going out of town they also have boarding which includes a morning and evening feeding, walks and meds as necessary.

If you find yourself with a new four legged family member hopefully they can help you keep your new family member healthy.

We send our kiddos to day camps when schools out, and now Fido can go too.

blog copyUpdated:  I had the opportunity to do an interview with August at Camp BowWow today and take a tour of the facility via Zoom.  It was pretty amazing and I’ve uploaded it to YouTube for you all.  Enjoy.

I don’t know about you but when my sweet yellow lab Tuggie was alive he was just another member of the family.  I hated leaving him when we’d go on vacation, and thankfully we had a place I was comfortable boarding him at.  However, I sure could have used a place like this weeks hot spot during the day.  Camp Bow Wow  will be opening soon in Hillsboro and I just know your four legged family members are going to love them.

They provide dog daycare, dog boarding and dog grooming for the four legged members of your family. One of the things I love is that their employees aka camp counselors are extensively trained in doggie behavior, first aide and CPR.  In addition, they’ve got indoor and outdoor play areas and they do not charge extra if Fido needs to have medication administered while at camp.  I also love the fact that dogs who are boarded overnight get to have an individual space to sleep, and they provide them with a night time treat.

I know that some pet parents worry about what their furry family members are doing at camp, and if they are having fun.  If that’s you it’s amazing that you can check on your dog thanks to their web cams and the app that they have, not to mention the fact that they require all of their campers to go through a socialization interview, be spayed/neutered and current on all vaccinations.  So you know that Fido will be safe while at camp.

Located at 2900 SE Cornelius Pass Road in Hillsboro, they’re located close to TV Hwy making it easy to drop your doggo off on your way to work.

Man’s Best Friend Giving You Trouble?

My Copy of November Graphics (2)When it comes to dogs, I seem to have won the dog lottery.  They were all well behaved and took to the training we did quickly and easily.  However I know that isn’t always the case, and if that’s you then I think I have the solution to your misbehaving dog problems…..Off Leash K-9 Training Portland.

I learned about this company when a friend of mine began working for them, and it intrigued me.  Off Leash K-9 Training Portland is one of 130 locations nation wide.  Specializing in private lessons, dog behavior consultations and helping dog owners to understand why their furry four legged companions do what they do all while your dog is off leash.

I love the fact that they provide a phone consultation and different packages depending on what your needs are.  From basic training to boarding and training they have an option for everyone.  In addition to all the different training options they believe that 98% of all dogs are capable of being trained no matter what breed, size, age or shape.  So, if Fido is giving you troubles give Off Leash K-9 Training Portland a call and see if they can help.
