We send our kiddos to day camps when schools out, and now Fido can go too.

blog copyUpdated:  I had the opportunity to do an interview with August at Camp BowWow today and take a tour of the facility via Zoom.  It was pretty amazing and I’ve uploaded it to YouTube for you all.  Enjoy.

I don’t know about you but when my sweet yellow lab Tuggie was alive he was just another member of the family.  I hated leaving him when we’d go on vacation, and thankfully we had a place I was comfortable boarding him at.  However, I sure could have used a place like this weeks hot spot during the day.  Camp Bow Wow  will be opening soon in Hillsboro and I just know your four legged family members are going to love them.

They provide dog daycare, dog boarding and dog grooming for the four legged members of your family. One of the things I love is that their employees aka camp counselors are extensively trained in doggie behavior, first aide and CPR.  In addition, they’ve got indoor and outdoor play areas and they do not charge extra if Fido needs to have medication administered while at camp.  I also love the fact that dogs who are boarded overnight get to have an individual space to sleep, and they provide them with a night time treat.

I know that some pet parents worry about what their furry family members are doing at camp, and if they are having fun.  If that’s you it’s amazing that you can check on your dog thanks to their web cams and the app that they have, not to mention the fact that they require all of their campers to go through a socialization interview, be spayed/neutered and current on all vaccinations.  So you know that Fido will be safe while at camp.

Located at 2900 SE Cornelius Pass Road in Hillsboro, they’re located close to TV Hwy making it easy to drop your doggo off on your way to work.

Man’s Best Friend Giving You Trouble?

My Copy of November Graphics (2)When it comes to dogs, I seem to have won the dog lottery.  They were all well behaved and took to the training we did quickly and easily.  However I know that isn’t always the case, and if that’s you then I think I have the solution to your misbehaving dog problems…..Off Leash K-9 Training Portland.

I learned about this company when a friend of mine began working for them, and it intrigued me.  Off Leash K-9 Training Portland is one of 130 locations nation wide.  Specializing in private lessons, dog behavior consultations and helping dog owners to understand why their furry four legged companions do what they do all while your dog is off leash.

I love the fact that they provide a phone consultation and different packages depending on what your needs are.  From basic training to boarding and training they have an option for everyone.  In addition to all the different training options they believe that 98% of all dogs are capable of being trained no matter what breed, size, age or shape.  So, if Fido is giving you troubles give Off Leash K-9 Training Portland a call and see if they can help.

Tasty Treats for Man’s Best Friend

Add a subheading copy 13I don’t think there is one person out there doesn’t think about giving up the corporate grind to do something that they truly love.  Krystal Monroe, owner of Puppernickle did just that.  A year ago she hung up her corporate hat and decided to do what she loved, which is bake.

Since she loves being with her dogs  opening up a barkerie (what doggie bakeries are often known as) to provide special treats for man’s best friend seemed like a great idea.  She started selling her unique doggie treats at the Hillsboro Farmers Market and Tuesday Night Market, while her husband can be found at the Beaverton Farmers Market.  In addition, she also attends events for the Oregon Humane Society, and local wineries.

However, if you cannot make one of these events, you can now get these tasty treats for your pups at her downtown Hillsboro location at 131 SE Third Ave.  Puppernickle treats range in price from $2-$17 and they offer a variety of treats from rawhide bones,  canine cannolis, grooming products and more.  I recently bought some gluten free dog treats for my grandpupper Link and he loved them.  I know that I will continue to support this new local business, and I hope you will too.  Your puppers will be happy, oh and while I’m there  maybe I should go pick some treats up for NextHome’s brand ambassador Luke.  I bet he’d love them.  What do you think?
