The beautiful City of Forest Grove boasts turn of the century arcitecthure that will take you back in time while you stroll the tree lined streets and paths, as well as gardens of Pacific University. If you are looking for a place to slow down and relax then Forest Grove may just be the place you should call home. In addition to being the home of Pacific University, Forest Grove provides a unique opportunity to enjoy specialty stores, antiques, coffee shops, galleries and more.
You may think that living in a small town means lack of entertainment, however that is not the case with Forest Grove. They have been host to the Concours d’Elegance in the summer for the past 30 years. This event is one of four premier car shows through the United States, and this event welcomes thousands of visitors as well as hundreds of beautiful classic cars to the Pacific University grounds. If vintage cars are not your thing then you may enjoy other events such as their annual corn roast in September, the Farmers Market which runs from May through October, Holiday in the Grove which is the first Saturday in December or perhaps you’re more interested in a walking tour to view the 150 years of arcitectural history of downtown and the surrounding Clark National History District.
If you are more of an outdoors type person who likes to hike and camp, then Forest Grove makes a fantastic base to do those things. You’ll be 8 miles from Hagg Lake, 15 miles from the Tillamook State Forest, 1/2 mile from the Fern Hill Wetland, 10 miles to the Banks-Vernonia State Trail, and 17 miles from L.L. Stub Stewart State Park. With it’s close proximity to Hillsboro, and Beaverton it is easy to see why so many are starting to call Forest Grove home.
